Henry VIII's Great Seal is the sixteenth episode of Legends of the Hidden Temple. It was the fourteenth episode to have production completed and the thirty-second to air. Moat CrossingEach team had to swim on a raft to the other side and then his partner pulls the raft back and swims on the raft to the other side.
Steps of KnowledgeThe most feared and powerful King of England was Henry VIII. When he was young, he was very tall, handsome, and athletic, and his court was very luxurious. Food was served on gold plates. He seemed to have everything, but Henry wasn't happy. He wanted a son to be the heir to the English Throne. He had two wives, who had given him baby girls, but Henry wanted boys. Finally, his third wife gave him a boy. But Henry wanted more, so he married three more times. He grew bitter and unhappy, because he was worried that his one son would not be strong enough to run his kingdom. The unhappier he was, the fatter he got. He grew so fat, that he had to be buried in a coffin the size of a small piano. The Great Seal of the realm was to be buried with him. But legend has it that his sixth wife kept it instead.
Temple GamesThe Silver Snakes are 13-year-olds Nick, who writes comedy skits and enters them in contests (his favorite skit being one where a man was mad at the world for everyone thinking that women can cook better than men), and Shay, who collects glass figurines (mostly unicorns). Unfortunately, she broke her favorite one, but still has her second favorite (a unicorn head blown by the wind stained with oil to make it colorful). The Blue Barracudas are 11-year-old Andi, who draws people with big heads and small bodies, and 13-year-old Jordan, who uses a computer very often. Crown Six Wives (Bungee Soap Mat)Henry VIII had six wives (Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr), and each one was crowned Queen of England. In a moment, Nick and Andi got their own chances to crown six queens. Before them were 12 women, three in each corner. When Kirk game the signal, one player from each team grabbed their crowns from their baskets. And then they had to crawl out to one of the heads on the other side and placed the crowns on their heads And then they had to go back to the center, grab another and then they were crowned again. They worked on two corners each for 60 seconds. The first one to crown six queens, or the player with the most crowned queens, won. Probably the funniest part, though, was when Kirk went over to high-five Nick at the end of the game; Nick slipped and Kirk went down with him. Although, as Kirk put it, the queens "weren't wearing their heads very well," both players did manage to crown four of the mannequin heads, resulting in a tie score at a half pendant apiece.Older and Sadder, Fatter and Fatter (Bamboo Forest)As Henry VIII grew older and sadder, he grew fatter and fatter, and it was harder and harder for him to go hunting in the woods. Shay and Jordan also have put on a few pounds, even though they were not depressed. In that game, they had to see how well they maneuvered. When Kirk gave the signal, they headed into the forest. Each time they came to the poles, they had to maneuver between them. They had 60 seconds. The first one through the forest, or, the furthest along when time was up won. Both players moved very quickly, but in particular, Jordan excelled in the game with a "start looking ahead" strategy, making it out with 44 seconds to spare. Field of the Cloth of Gold (Bungee Soap Line)The Field of Cloth of Gold was a famous tournament where knights got together and jousted. In that game, the teams did a little bit of jousting themselves. One player from each team started with pieces of gold cloth in their helmets. When Kirk gave the signal, both partners pulled themselves to the center. When they got there, they passed the cloth from the player's helmets to their partners and then they had to slide back to their starting points. The first partners grabbed another piece of their cloth while the second partners dump their cloths into the buckets. Then they pulled themselves to the center and they did it again. They had 60 seconds. The team with the most cloth in their bucket won. The Blue Barracudas fell behind with this game because they had trouble transferring the cloth from helmet to helmet— thinking they would successfully complete the transfer, they would separate only to realize they had to slide back towards the middle. The Silver Snakes ultimately won, four cloths over the Blue Barracudas who only transferred three.
Temple RunShay went into the temple first, moving at a moderately fast speed. Starting off by heading into The Cave of Sighs, she immediately encountered the first Temple Guard within the cave causing her to jump back in fright after being startled from the guard. Still frazzled by the encounter, Shay forks over her pendant of life and continued around the cave in search for the doors leading to The Pit of Despair. After some time, Shay opens up the upper crawl door and jumps into The Pit of Despair. Next, Shay decides to go through the lower route by heading into The Room of Harmonic Convergence and was able to unlock the door leading to The Heart Room after trying the second combination. At first, Shay tried to head into The Swamp where the seal was but she changes her mind and proceeded to climb up into The Heart Room. But just before Shay could even climb out of the ladder shaft, the second temple guard immediately jumps out from the door, causing her to scream loudly, and even almost causing her to almost fall down the ladder! After a wicked laugh, the temple guard takes Shay out of the temple with 2:12 left on the clock Nick went next, moving at a similar pace as his partner. Going through the same route that Shay went through, (though he used the lower crawl door instead of the upper in The Cave of Sighs), Nick retraced Shay's footsteps up to the Heart Room with 1:46 left on the clock. Thinking on his feet, Nick proceeded to unlock the door leading into The Treasure Room where he opened the teasure chest and tried to head directly down into The Swamp to get the seal on time. Unfortunately, he couldn't do so, thus leading him to instead head into The Shrine of the Silver Monkey. At first, Nick didn't know where the pieces of the monkey were, so he tried looking them through the doors thinking the pieces were there. But eventually, Nick grabs the three pieces of the silver monkey and assembles them at a great pace. After completing the statue, Nick heads into The Pirate's Cove, where he proceeds to climb down the ladder leading him into The Dungeon. Luckily, the iron slab was already up so he didn't need to turn the ship's wheel. However, Nick didn't take of the other half of his pendant on the ladder as he was climbing down. (Though Nick stated in an interview he was not looking for it at the moment and was more focused on getting to the seal on time). Still with plenty of time, Nick quickly bust through The Stone Wall into The Tomb of the Ancient Kings with 45 seconds left on the clock. But just as he was trying to open up the sarcophagus, the third and final Temple Guard jumped out from the middle golden door, startling Nick strong enough that he went out of bounds from the temple! But sadly, because Nick only had half a pendant, a triple seizure still occurred. Leaving Kirk, Shay and Nick frazzled over what just happened within the temple run.
