- This was the first episode where:
- Contestants must attempt to retrieve an artifact placed in the Swamp.
- A team of Silver Snakes defeated a team of Blue Barracudas in the Temple Games to compete in the Temple Run.
- This is the first of two episodes with a "Bamboo Forest" temple game. The second is the next episode.
- Coincidentally, both players on each winning team lost this temple game. Also, in each temple run, both half pendants were in the Dungeon.
- This is the only episode of Layout IV where a team other than the Blue Barracudas went to Olmec's Temple.
- This is the third and final episode where a team of Silver Snakes attempted to retrieve an artifact placed in the room that featured the Swamp, the Spider's Lair, the Bamboo Forest, the Holes of Python, and the Jester's Court. The first two were The Golden Cricket Cage of Khan and The Pendant of Kamehameha.
- This is the last episode in Season 1 where a team's run is ended by being caught by the third Temple Guard with less than a full pendant.
- Nick was one of the few contestants to be interviewed about his time on the show. However, he preferred to be anonymous.
- During his interview, Nick mentioned that a lot of questions in the Steps of Knowledge were thrown out due to him getting them wrong and nobody else buzzing in.
- In 2025, Nick gave a second interview to People magazine.
- In the interview, he revealed that the cast member who played the temple guard that scared him out of the temple encouraged him to apply for the reboot.
- The Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots later appeared in The Lucky Pot-Bellied Pig of Amelia Earhart, as the Silver Snakes and Green Monkeys respectively.
- The episode aired on The '90s Are All That block in July 2015, as a part of Stick Stickly's adventure to Comic Con.
- Nick along with Joshua Siniscalco from The Imperial Purple Robe of Empress Theodora would return to compete in the CW reboot episode The Hindu Legend of Rama together as the Blue Barracudas.
- If Nick had a full pendant, the tape would've stopped and Nick would have been in The Tomb of the Ancient Kings to resume taping, but since he had a half pendant, the triple seizure stood.
