Moat Crossing

The moat required the first players to climb across using the knotted ropes overhead, then toss inner tubes across the moat for the second players, who would pull themselves across the water using the rope the inner tubes are attached to. The Red Jaguars were across first, and the Blue Barracudas placed second just a moment later. It took a little longer for the Purple Parrots to get across and hit their gong, and after that it was a bit more of a wait for the fourth team. After a bit of struggling, the Silver Snakes crawled out of the moat and placed fourth, ending the round.

Steps of Knowledge

One of the most famous archaeologists who ever lived was Howard Carter.
King Tut in the Legend
When he opened the door to the tomb of King Tutankhamun, there was a warning above the entrance: "Those who disturb the King's resting place shall die." Inside, he saw a room filled with golden objects and a solid gold coffin worth over $1 million. The mummy in the coffin wore a gold mask covered with turquoise and jewels. Carter's men began to remove the priceless objects from the tomb, and the curse took effect immediately. One man got an infected mosquito bite and died within six weeks. Another contracted a cold and died of pneumonia. Some say that the curse was brought on by Carter, but according to legend, it was brought on by a worker who stole King Tut's cobra staff.

The Purple Parrots are 13-year-old Eusenia, who reads horror stories, and 11-year-old David, who collects comic books (his favorite being Spider-Man 2099). The Blue Barracudas are 13-year-old Joe, who is usually lazy, and 12-year-old Stacy, who also reads horror stories.

Build the Pyramid (Climbing Wall)[]

They said the pyramid was built by thousands of workers carrying huge blocks of stones. It took them 26 years. Fortunately, Joe and Eusenia get 60 seconds. When Kirk gave the signal, they had to grab a stone, climb up to the first spot and attach them to their walls. Then they had to climb back down, grab another stone climb back up, attach it to the next spot and so on. The first person to place all five stones and come back down or the one that's furthest along in 60 seconds won. Although Joe started off stronger, he had an increasingly harder time scaling the wall, letting Eusenia steadily chug ahead. At the end of 60 seconds, Eusenia had three bricks in place to Joe's two, so the Purple Parrots won the first half Pendant of the day.

Tomb of Ramses (Dragon Tunnel)[]

Tomb of Ramses Temple Game
The tomb of Tutankhamun was never looted because its entrance was blocked by huge boulders from the tomb of Ramses nearby. Fortunately, the players had to clean the entrance out. Before them stood two tunnels. In front of each entrance, there was a boulder. When Kirk gave the signal, the players had to burrow through the tunnels as quickly as they can, pushing their boulder in front of them. When they get to the other side, they had to turn around and push the boulder back through the tunnel to the other side, and they had to go on like that for 60 seconds. The first player to push the boulder through three times or the one that's furthest along when time was up won. Neither player finished within the time limit, however, Stacy had gone through the tunnel twice within the 60 seconds, while David only made it through once and was working his way back— the boulder seemed to get stuck, as he did not push hard enough. Regardless, Stacy was further along and won the half Pendant of the Life for the Blue Barracudas, tying the score with a half Pendant each.

Mummy Wrap (Body Wrap)[]

The ancient Egyptians used to wrap their mummies in yards and yards of linen, not unlike the players. So, when Kirk gave the signal, both teams had to turn, one player pulling the linen onto himself while the other unrolled it from his body. The first team to move all the linen from one mummy to the other and back again or the team that's furthest along at the end of 60 seconds won. The game was over very fast, as the Purple Parrots completed the transfer from Eusenia to David and back in just nineteen seconds, winning the full Pendant for themselves. As a result, they won the Temple Games with one-and-a-half Pendants to the Blue Barracudas' half.

Temple Run

Eusenia went into the temple first, moving at a fast pace. She began her run by heading up into The Room of the Royal Gongs, where she tried looking for an actuator rather than hitting a gong at first. Shortly after Kirk told Eusenia on what to do, she was able to unlock the door to The Troubled Bridge after hitting her second gong. After sprinting pass the bridge, Eusenia then heads into The Observatory where she spun the celestial lights to open a door. However, it seemed at first that the room was a dead end since none of the doors had unlocked. But just when Eusenia was about to head back to The Troubled Bridge, the door to The Heart Room finally unlocked, (most likely delayed due to a production error), to which she heads back and descends into the center of the temple. But upon unlocking the door to The Throne Room, Eusenia encounters the first temple guard within The Heart Room and had to give up her pendant.

Temple Guard #1

Thinking on her feet, Eusenia descends down into The Throne Room where she was able to unlock a door before, she could even sit or stand on the throne. Unfortunately, the only door that opened was the one leading into The Wheel Room, and this caused Eusenia to try and head back to where she started. Once she realized she couldn't advance any furthur due to the stone slab being in the way, Eusenia proceeds to head back up into The Heart Room. But upon re-entering the room, Eusenia was confused on where to go and at first attempted to climb back up to The Observatory and even tried unlocking the unlockable door to The Wheel Room. Eventually, Eusenia unlocks the door to The Treasure Room and then proceeds to run over to the door leading to The Shrine of the Silver Monkey and unlocks it.
King Tut Half Pendant
Unfortunately for Eusenia, the second temple guard was in the shrine, and she was captured before she could do anything in the room. Thus, ending her run with 1:35 left on the clock.

David went into the temple next. While he moved at a more moderate pace, David knew exactly where to go and get things done at a good pace. Although David passed up the half Pendant on the Treasure Room/Shrine actuator (which he fortunately did not need), he made good time putting the monkey together. Unfortunately, the door to The Room of Three Torches was the only door that opened, but David quickly made his way into the room and climbed into the bucket in order to head down into The Well. The elevator took a while to get started, so David only had eight seconds left once the bucket arrived at The Well. He then quickly smashes through The Stone Wall and grabs King Tut's Cobra Staff with three seconds left. But because there wasn't enough time for David to make his way back to the temple gates, the temple run ended before he could set foot in The Holes of Python.
