Temple Layout (Reboot)

Temple Layout XVI was the only series of rooms for the Temple Run in the reboot series, and the final layout of the franchise overall.

Rooms Used

Rooms that first appeared in this layout are in bold.

Description

Your temple run begins in the Crystal Cenote where only one of three doors will open. Choose the high door to the Royal Rage Room or you could climb the rock wall and enter the Spider's Lair or you could choose the low door and enter the Crypt of the Heartless. Reach into the rotting corpses until you find the beating heart, place the bloody organ into the chamber to open the door to the Pit of Despair where one of three doors will open you could crawl through the rubble to The Dark Forest. Fight your way through the dense trees, smash the stone wall and climb the Ladder of Death to the Queen's Armory or you could choose to climb the boney walls to the Queen's Armory or the Spider's Lair. Avoid the deadly spiders as you crawl looking for an open door that may lead you to the Room of the Lost Treasure, the Room of the Beloved, or the Royal Rage Room. Release your rage on those clay pots to find three jade keys for the king's coffer and unlock the door to the Room of the Beloved. Maneuver the ancient skull through the maze reuniting it with its skeleton to gain entrance to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the three pieces of that cursed statue if you can and you could open the gate to the Room of the Lost Treasure, or the passageway to the Steamy Hollows, where you must memorize the order of the steam blasts to open the gate to the Queen's Armory. Dress the queen for battle in five pieces of magic armor then you can climb the stairs to the Room of the Lost Treasure. Remove the rods to drop refuse on the floor and find the lost jade stone wrapped in fur and return it to its pedestal.

Grab the artifact before time is up and all of the doors will instantly unlock and the Temple Guards will vanish. Race back through the Crystal Cenote and through the temple gates. The choices are yours and yours alone.

Trivia

  • This is the only layout:
    • To take place outside rather than within a building or studio.
    • Where Olmec's description changes per episode, depending on the artifact's location.
    • Where an artifact and a Temple Guard are hiding in a pit room.
    • To have more than one room on the third floor. In this case, it is the Room of the Beloved, The Shrine of the Silver Monkey and the Steamy Hollows. All the previous layouts have only one room on the third floor, which is either the Observatory or the King's Storeroom.
  • Like Season 3's Temple Layout XV, this is the only layout for Season 4.
    • Coincidentally, they are the only two layouts without the Observatory.
    • It is also the second longest lasting layout of the entire franchise, beating out Temple Layouts XI and XII by just one episode.
  • None of the Season 3-debut rooms returned in this layout. The returning rooms debuted from either Season 1 (Shrine of the Silver Monkey and the Spider's Lair) or Season 2 (the Dark Forest and Pit of Despair).
  • Some of the Season 4 rooms share similiar objectives to some of the rooms from the original series. For example:
  • This layout has the most Temple Runs performed by the Blue Barracudas and Purple Parrots in the entire franchise.
  • The Pit of Despair, the Crypt of the Heartless, the Queen's Armory, the Room of the Beloved, and the Room of the Lost Treasure are tied for having featured the most artifacts in this layout, with two each.
  • The Shrine of the Silver Monkey, the Dark Forest, and the Steamy Hollows are tied for featured the fewest artifacts in this layout, with one each.
