The Aboriginal Australian Legend of the Seven Sisters (a.k.a. The Fiery Yam Stick of the Seven Sisters) is the thirteenth and final episode of the reboot series, as well as the 133rd and final episode overall of the entire Legends of the Hidden Temple franchise.

Storyline

The story of the Seven Sisters comes from the indigenous people of Australia. Inspired by the seven star constellation known to the Greeks as Pleiades. According to legend, the stars are actually Seven Sisters from the outback. In early adolescence, the young women approach the elders of the tribe with a demand.

"Our young men are tested to prove their manhood. We want to prove our womanhood."

"No such tests exist."

"Then test us the same as the men."

"Those tests are too harsh. We will make new ones for you."

But the young women insist on the same tests and the elders reluctantly agree. Like the men, the sisters are instructed to gather sharp flints, ash from the plains of the Whispering Valley and a digging tool called a yam stick. For three years, they learn the laws of the tribe and endure great personal sacrifice, nearly starving while foraging for the two meagre meals they are allowed each day. After three years, the grueling training finally ends. The real tests are about to begin.

Moat Crossing

Like the Seven Sisters, you must make great personal sacrifice while foraging for meagre meals. When Cristela gives the signal, read the instructions left for you by the tribal elders then jump on that raft and paddle them to the first location. Forage for two individually wrapped COVID-friendly pouches with meagre meals. Eat from the pouch, and look for instructions to the next location. Once you have eaten three meagre meals, you may hit your gong. The first three teams to hit their gong continue on their quest. The last team is out.

Steps of Knowledge

The sisters are ready for the real tests to begin. First, tests of pain! All of which must be endured in complete silence. A healer called a wirinun instructs the sisters to lie down, and he circles the women seven times, then points a long red stick at one sister's face and gently rests it atop her front tooth. With a hard jab, he knocks the tooth into her mouth. "Another?" he asks. If she replies, "Yes, oh wise one," a second tooth is gone.

Olmec: And you thought your dentist was scary.

Each sister passes the test without a whimper. The wirinun tells the sisters to stand erect. Using their own flints, he slices a large gash in their shoulders and demands they rub the ash from the plains of the Whispering Valley deep into the wound. To increase the pain, elders push the ash even deeper, then whisper in each woman's ear—

"You may rest now."

But it's a trick. Six of the sisters fall fast asleep, leaving the seventh to stifle any screams if they writhe in pain. Soon, something is crawling over every inch of their bodies. Giant ants burrow into their ears, nostrils and mouths. Still, they remain silent. The elders watch in disbelief as the sisters are placed on a bed of hot cinders. The continued silence is deafening. It is in this stillness that the elders finally release the sisters.

"It is over."

But it is not. There is one last test: Fear.

The Sisters' Pain (Head to Head)[]

The Seven Sisters endure much pain at the hands of the wirinun.

In this game, you are the wirinun, knocking out the front teeth and pressing ash into their gaping wound. When Cristela gives the signal, climb over the mountain and along the ground. Gather red sticks and take them to the teeth of the Seven Sisters. Use one stick to knock in the first two sets of teeth, then swap roles until you have knocked in all seven sets. When one stick no longer reaches the teeth, tie sticks together using the strands in that pouch, knock in the last set of teeth, then run over to the sister, lay her on the ground and cover her in ash. Then you may run over and hit your gong to win.

Fear Test (Time Trial)[]

The sisters final test is fear. On a moonless night, they are taken to the middle of the forest to sleep without fire so that all the animals can see them, but they can see nothing. The elders tell tales of demon creatures of the night, shapeshifters, bloodsucking frog men, and cannibals. Suddenly, the elders vanish and the sisters are alone. Sounds of slithering snakes join blood curdling screams.

In this game, you are the sisters listening for screams and then slaying the demons. When Cristela gives the signal, one sister race into the forest and listen for the scream of a demon. Mimic the scream to another sister atop the mountain, who must slide down to find the demon. Rip off its head and take it back up the mountain. Throw the bloody trophy to your sister below, who must lay it to rest by the tree before moving on to the next demon. Slay all four demons and then you may run over to hit your gong to stop the clock. The fastest team wins.

The End of the Story

The sisters survive the test of fear. The elders lead them back to the tribe to celebrate their full womanhood. Revelry awakens the gods who descend from the heavens with the gift of fire. They place the blinding light on the tip of each sister's yam stick and whisk them into the sky to form the constellation called the Seven Sisters, lighting the way for women of every generation for eternity.

Temple Run

Stefanina entered first and climbed the Crystal Cenote towards the Royal Rage Room. However, as she opened the door and climbed up, she suddenly dropped her pendant off the side of the ledge. She managed to make it to the Room of the Beloved where she met a Temple Guard and, with no pendant, she was taken out of the Temple.

Angelo went in next and managed to retrieve Stefanina's pendant on the ground, arming him with two pendants. But it wasn't the lack of pendant that would be costly but Angelo's lack of speed. He moved far too slowly through the Temple. He slowly guided the skull through the maze in the Room of the Beloved. In the Steamy Hollows, he botched the combination, but managed to solve it the second time. In the Queen's Armory, he dressed the Queen with four pieces of armor, but forgot about the ankle bracelet. He managed to find the bracelet, but time expired just as he burst through the wall into the Dark Forest.

Notes

  • Like The Mummified Hand of the Egyptian King, this is a rare occassion where the:
    • First contestant accidentally drops a pendant.
    • First contestant gets taken out of the Temple by the first Temple Guard.
    • Second contestant has more than one pendant.
      • Coincidentally, both episodes feature the Blue Barracudas and female contestants going into the Temple first.
  • This is the only episode in the reboot series where none of the Temple Guards were given a pendant.
  • This is the second and last episode in the reboot series when only one Temple Guard was encountered (the first being in The Ilocano Legend of Lam-Ang).
  • While not truly encountered in this episode, Olmec mentions Kirk Fogg when he tells the contestants that they could encounter him in the Dark Forest.
  • This is the second season finale in production order where the Red Jaguars didn't make it to the Temple. The first being The Priceless Portrait of the Polynesian Girl from Season 2.
    • This is also the only season finale episode in the entire franchise where the contestant doesn't grab onto the artifact.
  • This is the only Team Run in LOTHT history to have only one Temple Guard encounter.
