Moat CrossingIn this Moat, teams have to progress from giant inflatable lily-pad to giant inflatable lily-pad using a wooden plank. Both players must cross before the team hits their gong.
Steps of KnowledgeThe most daring marksman of all time was the Swiss archer William Tell. In the Early 1300's, Hermann Gessler, the governor of Switzerland, placed a hat on a pole and made the people bow to it. William Tell, passing with his young son, Walter, refused to bow and was arrested and brought before Gessler. "Who is this man?" "William Tell, your Excellency, a Swiss archer." "My father's not just an archer; he's the finest marksman in the land— he can shoot an apple off a tree from 100 yards away!" "Is that so? In that case, you won't mind shooting an apple off your son's head at 100 paces. Or I could have you both put to death." Tell took two arrows from his quiver, placed one in his belt, and drew the other in the bow— the arrow swooshed through the air and split the apple in two. "Good shot. But what was the second arrow for?" "If my first had missed, Sir, it was for you." Gessler had Tell arrested, but he escaped and led the fight for Independence. Legend has it that Tell's son, Walter, dried the apple half and hid it away for over 600 years, until it found its way to the Temple.
Temple GamesThe Green Monkeys are Lauren and Brett. The Silver Snakes are Desiree and Chris. Arrows Through the Apples (Pop-Up Tunnel)[]From 100 paces, William Tell had to pierce the apple on Walter's head; all Desiree and Lauren had to do was to match the colored apple to its similarly colored arrow. Before them was an orchard with a variety of apples and arrows. When Kirk gave the signal, they would pop through a hole, get whatever was there, than pop up elsewhere to get the match; the first player to match all three apples and arrows within 60 seconds would win. Desiree and Lauren tied with two matches, awarding both teams a half-Pendant. Expelling Austrians (Spinning Platforms)[]When William Tell and the Swiss won their independence from Austria, they rounded up all the Austrians and expelled them from Switzerland; when Kirk gave the signal, Brett and Chris would adjust their weight to spin the wheel, representing one Austrian expulsion. The team with the most expulsions in 60 seconds would win; Brett won 16-10, bringing the Green Monkeys' score up to one Pendant. Bow to the Hat (Object Toss)[]The Austrian governor Hermann Gessler placed a hat on a pole as a symbol of his power. Before the teams were three poles and several copies of the Governor's hat. When Kirk gave the signal, the girls would take one of the copies of the governor's hat, throw it to their teammates, who would then fly over to the three poles and drop the hat on one of them. The team that got a hat on all three poles in 60 seconds would win; both teams had issues with their accuracy on the poles, but the Green Monkeys managed to win 2-0, giving them two Pendants to the Silver Snakes' half-Pendant.
Temple RunBrett went into the temple first, moving at a moderate fast pace. He decided to start off by heading up into The Crypt, however, even after pulling on all three books, none of the books opened up the door to The Pit of the Pendulum but instead The Ledges. With no other choice, Brett makes his way down into the dimly lighted Ledges but was met by the first temple guard on the top ledge. After giving up his pendant, Brett continues downwards to open the lower crawl tube, but the door was locked. To make things weirder when Brett tried the upper crawl tube, the door was also locked as well! Not giving up, Brett decided to try the lower crawl tube door again and this time it finally opened up, so he now heads to The Pit of the Pendulum after that slight kerfuffle. Quickly making his way through the bottom of the pit, Brett pushes down the column with his hands and unlocks only one of the rooms within The Pit of the Pendulum...that is, The King's Storeroom! But even with that harsh luck, Brett was definitely determined to get to the dried apple half on time, as he climbed The Wall Climb at a fast pace and makes it to the platforms and heads up into The King's Storeroom. With Lauren happily cheering Brett on and encouraging him to move a bit faster, Brett gets to work on smashing the pots to find the key. After smashing all three pots, he eventually found the key. But after grabbing it, Brett thought he had to use the key to unlock the door to The Room of the Ancient Warriors! After Kirk told him to try the key on the pedestals, Brett did so, but he had to try all three pedestals just to unlock the door to The Chamber of the Sacred Markers. Now being forced to descend the entire central shaft, Brett makes his way down and gets to work on finding the markers. While he had no trouble finding the first two markers, Brett had a bit of trouble finding the last marker. But eventually, he finds the marker and descends into The Tomb of the Ancient Kings with his supportive team-mate still cheering him on. In the end, after being forced to scale the entire central shaft, and dealing with a lot of bad luck, Brett was caught by the second temple guard with 56 seconds left. Thus, removing him from the temple. Now it was Lauren's turn to try her luck. Unfortunately, she moved into the Temple at an incredibly slow pace and hesitated before going down the slide to the Ledges. (Though it was a smart move to go down The Ledges in order to save time). But regardless of if she moved fast or not, it's very clear Lauren will not have enough time to get to the dried apple half on time. Especially since she had to go through the entire central shaft. Once Lauren was in The Pit of the Pendulum, she struggled a bit while walking through the bottom and when it came to climbing The Wall Climb, she also had a bit of a tough time getting her footing on the wall. Eventually, Lauren makes it up the platform and even checks to see if she can access The Chamber of the Sacred Markers from there, but the door still remained locked. So, Lauren had to continue her journey within the temple through The King's Storeroom. In the end, time ran out when Lauren was still climbing up the steps to The King's Storeroom. Just like with several past temple runs, the temple proved to be a different animal each time. With many fans considering this to be the harshest layout to ever exist within Legends history. And it was also made very clear that the producers were forcing Brett and Lauren to enter EVERY room in the temple, just to get to dried apple half on time. While both of them did have potential to make it through the various rooms in the temple. But had the producers not forced them to give them many locked doors or dead ends and instead gave them a slightly easier path to follow, they would have had a somewhat better chance to get through more rooms and have a slightly better chance to get to the apple on time. Just like William Tell, the two had to face hard and daring tasks, but even after completing the objectives, the bigger threat will always be one step ahead of them.
