The Norse Legend of Freyja (a.k.a. The Golden Torc of Freyja) is the sixth episode of the reboot version and the 126th episode overall of Legends of the Hidden Temple. StorylineOlmec: This Scandinavian story comes from Norse mythology. No Norse goddess is more powerful or beautiful than Freyja. She rules over war and sex and is lusted after by many, women and men, including the big one-eyed god himself, Odin. Freyja is a collector of beautiful things and describes to Odin the breathtaking bedchamber she desires, complete with a door that only Freyja herself can open. And he builds it for her in the Palace of Asgard. Cristela: Wait. So what does the golden torc have to do with it? Olmec: The Golden Torc is another piece in her collection, a jewel-encrusted necklace with special powers that she loans to Thor when he needs to impersonate her. Cristela: Ooh! A great cliffhanger. Olmec: Indeed! Moat CrossingLike Freyja and Odin, you must work together to build a beautiful bedchamber that starts with the perfect bed. When Cristela gives the signal, both of you swim to the first platform and assemble the bed frame on that raft. One of you swim to the second platform, enter the bedchamber, and put on that wig, becoming Freyja. Find the list describing the bed you desire, and read it to your teammate, who is now Odin, ready to build it. Once Odin finishes the bed, he must swim it over to pick up Freyja. Then you may both exit the moat and hit your gong. The first three teams to hit their gong move on to the next round. The last team is out.
Steps of KnowledgeFreyja grows tired of her perfect bedchamber and leaves Asgard in search of adventure. Just then, Thor and his frenemy, Loki, desperately need her. They go to Odin. "Where's Freyja? This idiot lost his hammer." "She is the only one who can help me get it back." "She has gone to see the jeweler dwarves." Freyja is enchanted by an incredible one-piece golden necklace, created by three dwarves. It is so special, it has a name, the Brísingamen Torc. As stunned by the torc as the dwarves are by Freyja's beauty, she insists she must have it and demands the price. "Price? How about more time with you?" "You could stay the night?" To the dwarves' great surprise, Freyja agrees to stay the night with each of them. She leaves with the shining golden torc around her neck, which becomes her trademark. On the way back to Asgard, Freyja hears a poor farmer praying to her at a giant stone altar. "Great Freyja, deliver me from poverty." He slaughters an ox as a sacrifice, impressing Freyja with his devotion. So she sets out to answer his prayers, calling in Heide, a magic witch, who performs a 23andMe incantation… "Royal blood flows like wine through your veins." Revealing the poor man is actually royalty. "Okay, Freyja, can I kill him now? By the way, nice torc." "Over my dead body." An epic battle ensues, and Freyja triumphs over Heide, lashing out. "This good human shall drink only good drink." The farmer pulls himself out of poverty and drinks nothing but the finest wine for the rest of his days. Meanwhile, Freyja returns to Asgard, where Thor and Loki are waiting.
Temple GamesFarmer's Ritual (Head-to-Head)[]In this game, one of you is the poor farmer, building an altar to Freyja. The other is the witch, Heide, trying to destroy it. When Cristela gives the signal, one teammate is the farmer, building your altar one block at a time. The other teammate is Heide, using that slinging device to knock down the altar of your opponent. When the altar is completed, it will have six blocks. Then grab a cup of ox blood, smear it atop the altar as an offering to Freyja. Toast to your good fortune with that most excellent wine, and then you may hit your gong. The first team to hit their gong wins. Thor and Freja vs. Thrym (Time Trial)[]Freyja returns to Asgard when Thor and Loki need her help to get Thor's hammer back from the hideous frost giant Thrym. Without Freyja's input, they concoct a ridiculous plan. "You agree to marry the giant. We use the wedding to get close enough to my hammer— Thunder." "Yeah. Then Thor can call for Thunder, and we kill everyone in the room. Uh, except you, of course." But Freyja has a different idea. Thor should dress up as her. He can pretend to marry Thrym himself, and she will loan him the Brísingamen Torc to sell the ruse. They agree, and the cross-dressing is on. In this game, you are both Thor carrying out Freyja's plan. When Cristela gives the signal, grab an article of Freyja's wedding clothes out of that chest, put it on, and describe it to your teammate, who must put on the same item. Once you are both fully dressed in three pieces of Freyja's clothes, go to Thrym's castle and summon your hammer by calling for Thunder. Grab the hammer and go all Red Wedding on Thrym. Grab one of those thunder balls and throw it to your teammate, who must hit it with Thunder to knock Thrym over, killing him. When Thrym is dead, you may hit your gong to stop the clock. The team that kills Thrym the fastest wins.
The End of the StoryFreyja's plan works, and the Brísingamen Torc is returned to her. Thor and Loki have newfound respect for female gods who have to fight in heels, and Scandinavian people will forever pray to Freyja before going into battle, her great golden Brísingamen Torc shining above the fray. Temple RunArt was not particularly fast, but he had no problem finding all three jade stones in the Royal Rage Room. He encountered a Temple Guard in the Room of the Beloved, but completed the objective before being taken out in the Pit of Despair. Chris made good time up until he reached the Queen's Armory where he had trouble keeping the fan attached to the Queen's hand. The door to the Steamy Hollows didn't open, so he had to enter the Room of the Lost Treasure and the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. With time running out, Chris ran into the Steamy Hollows, but rather than grabbing the Torq, he pressed the gong instead, costing the team $10,000.
