Moat Crossing

One player from each team sat on a floating ring. When Kirk said "go", that player pulled himself across the Moat as quickly as possible using an attached rope. Once across, he stepped off, grabbed the ring, and threw it back to his partner who proceeded to jump on and pull himself across. As soon as the second teammate stepped onto the deck, it was his job to run over and hit the gong.

Steps of Knowledge

The ancient kingdom of Lydia was ruled by a very rich and very powerful king named Croësus. He had a lot of money, but he wasn't very happy.

He thought, "If I could conquer Persia, I would be the richest and most powerful man in the world, and that would make me happy."

But before he attacked the Persians, he decided to ask the fortune teller at the Temple of Delphi if he was making the right decision.

"O great fortune teller," he began, "if my armies attack Persia, what will happen?"

The fortune teller sat in a three-legged bowl, munching on laurel leaves.

She said, "If King Croësus attacks the Persians, a great empire will be destroyed."

Croësus went home and promptly attacked Persia. The battle raged for fourteen days, but when it was over, Croësus had lost. By attacking the Persians, he had destroyed a great empire: His own. Years later, the Temple of Delphi was abandoned and everything inside was lost.

Temple Games

The Purple Parrots are twelve-year-old Shane, who wants to be a marine biologist and would like to swim with dolphins (Kirk suggested he should watch Flipper), and eleven-year-old Jacqueline, who likes to read teen magazines (mainly anything with Jeremy Jordan). The Silver Snakes are thirteen-year-old Mike, who plays golf, and eleven-year-old Jamie, who wants to be a veterinarian and has a dog named Cobra.

Roll off the Stone (Water Ramp)[]

The Temple of Apollo at Delphi was often rocked by earthquakes, and even had to rebuilt once. A couple of boulders have fallen. So what the players had to do was to roll them back up. All they had to do was sit with their backs to them, and when Kirk said go, they pushed their boulders up the mountainside. Of course, the water flowed, so it was gonna be a little tricky. They had 60 seconds. The first one to push the boulder up and stop the waterfall, or the player that was furthest along won. Shane completed the challenge with 32 seconds left on the clock, thanks to "strong legs," as he put it, and earned the first half Pendant of Life for the Purple Parrots.

Jeweled Eyes (Bungee Soap Mat)[]

Many Ancient Greek statues had heads made of gold with jeweled eyes. In that game, one player from each team replaced the eyes of the statues. When Kirk said go, they grabbed jewels from the center bin, crawled out to the team's statues, and placed jewels in the eyes. Then they went back to the center, grabbed another jewel, and they each worked on their two corners. And the team that placed the most jeweled eyes in 60 seconds won. Jamie was still working on the first statue when time ended, but Jackie had place both eyes on one statue, earning another half pendant for her team. At this point, Purple Parrots had a full pendant while the Silver Snakes had none.

Temple of Delphi (Pulley Pillar)[]

When the Roman Empire fell, people began to steal the marble from the Temple of Apollo. Then they would use it to build their own cities nearby. Up there, they had columns from the temple. When Kirk said go, one player from each team jumped up while their partners pulled down on their other ends of their ropes. Then they grabbed rings and then slid them down over their poles. Then their partners jumped up, and put the next pieces of the columns. They kept alternating like that, and the team with the most pieces on their column at the end of 60 seconds won.

When time ended, each team had five rings on their respective column, so it was a tie and each team won the full pendant. However, this meant that the Purple Parrots had two Pendants to the Silver Snakes one and would be going to Olmec's Temple.

Temple Run

Shane went into the temple first, moving at a fast pace. Deciding to take the direct route, Shane sprinted up into The Room of the Three Gargoyles, and quickly pushed in the correct tongue on his first try. As he started racing down the stairs to The Troubled Bridge, a Temple Guard popped out and had to quickly catch up to Shane before he could advance forward. After giving up his pendant of life, Shane crosses The Troubled Bridge, but unsurprisingly he ends up hitting a dead end, and couldn't go up to The Observatory. Quickly racing back to The Room of the Three Gargoyles, Shane pushes the other two tongues and proceeds to head down into The Cave of Sighs. Using the upper crawl tube, Shane makes his way into The Wheel Room where he turns the wheel and lifts the stone slab in order to proceed into the next room: The Room of Harmonic Convergence. After trying his third combination, the door to The Swamp had opened, but upon entering there, the second temple guard popped out and captured Shane with 2:04 left on the clock. Thus, removing him from the temple.

And with that, it is now Jacqueline's turn. Rather than going into The Cave of Sighs to save some time, she decided to head up into The Room of the Three Gargoyles and follow the same exact route that Shane did. In the Cave of Sighs, Jacqueline had a bit of trouble finding the door that Shane used to head into The Wheel Room. But after Kirk pointed it out, she continues her way into The Wheel Room and then enters The Room of Harmonic Convergence. However, upon entering, Jacqueline thought she had to step on the panels again despite the door to The Swamp being open. Kirk had to point it out to Jacqueline again that the door was opened, and she proceeds into The Swamp with 1:14 left. After making her way through the swamp, and heads into The Tomb of the Ancient Kings. Despite finding the key in the sarcophagus, Jacqueline did not try to use the key to open the door leading to The Shrine of the Silver Monkey. So, she instead decides to bust through The Stone Wall, but she had a bit of trouble busting through due to her not pushing on the wall hard enough. Finally, Jacqueline makes her way into The Dungeon, but instead of saving some time by heading into The Shrine of the Silver Monkey, she instead ascends up into The Pirate's Cove.
Jacqueline is Unsure of Where to Put the Torch in the Pirate's Cove
Sadly, Jacqueline did not know what the objective of the room was, as she continuously walked around in circles, trying to find an actuator, or searching for something to open the door. Kirk told her once more that she had to take the torches and place them in the holders up front. But by the time Jacqueline grabbed a torch, she was still confused on what to do with it, and she proceeds to place her torch on top of the other torches, even with Kirk telling her to place it up front. By the time Jacqueline realized where to put the torch, time ran out as she tried the third and final holder.
