- For the Trojan Tower game, Kirk said that the Trojans had to rebuild Troy after it was ransacked; in reality, Troy was never rebuilt, due to the fact that few if any Trojans survived the attack at all.
- If the Purple Parrots had answered the final question correctly instead of the Silver Snakes, this would have been the only episode in Season 1 where a team of Green Monkeys and a team of Purple Parrots would've competed in the Temple Games.
- Bob Attuck of the Silver Snakes was the fifth contestant to have his full name revealed, following the Orange Iguanas in Wild Bill Hickok and the Dead Man's Hand (Sarah Beckmeyer and Josh Shullener), Tia Thomas from The Golden Cricket Cage of Khan, and Joe Carlosi from Elizabeth I's Golden Ship.
- Shawn Thompson of the Green Monkeys was 15 at the time of production the oldest contestant to make it to the Temple as well as one of the oldest to be on the show.
- This was the first episode where a team of Green Monkeys competed in the Temple Run as well as the first Green Monkeys victory.
- This was the only episode where a team of Green Monkeys attempted to retrieve an artifact placed in the Golden Doors Room.
- The third Temple Guard was in the Spider's Lair, because his headdress was sticking out when Shawn was exiting the temple with the horseshoe.
- The other half pendant was in the Room of the Golden Idols (can be seen hanging on the actuator to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey during the rundown, making this the very first episode where a half pendant can be seen in Olmec's Temple) and was the first half pendant to ever hide in that room space.
- Coincidentally, this episode and The Silver Horseshoe of Butch Cassidy both have horseshoes as artifacts and both end as a win.
- During the credits, the horseshoe was seen in the Tomb of the Ancient Kings, even though it was brought out of the temple, taking footage before the run for the credits.
- The Orange Iguanas later appeared in Pecos Bill's Lost Lariat, competing as the Blue Barracudas.
